2000 miners workers awarded certificates through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program
On Wednesday, Rwanda TVET Board in partnership with Rwanda Extractive Industry Workers Union, Rwanda Mines, Petroleum and Gas Board, Rwanda Mining Association, and Enabel awarded certificates to 2000 miners who completed the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program.
The Minister of Public Service and Labour, Hon. Jeannette Bayisenge acknowledged the positive impact of the workplace learning policy. She commended certified mining workers for their commitment to excellence and encouraged them to demonstrate the difference, deepen their professionalism, and enhance their productivity and efficiency in their roles.
She emphasized the importance for employers and mining companies adhering to labour rights and standards and urged them to fulfill fundamental obligations such as providing employment contracts, contributions to social security, and medical insurance coverage to ensure the well-being of their workforce.
