The Public Service Management & Modernization Department has the following attributions:
- Analyse, formulate and design policies and strategies towards modernizing public service;
- Develop policies, strategies and frameworks for effective capacity development for public Servants;
- Develop policies, strategies and regulatory framework for institutions’ capacity development;
- Develop performance management policy, strategy and regulatory framework in public service;
- Develop policies and strategies for attraction and retention in public service;
- Develop policy and regulatory framework for professional ethics and values in public service;
- Develop human resource management policies and regulations for public service;
- Develop and ensure implementation of reconversion programs to enable public servants who were not placed after rationalization to explore other income generating opportunities through various interventions
- Develop, customize and implement Quality Service Delivery Standards in public service;
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of policies, strategies and programs related to the management and modernization of public service.
