The New ILO Regional Director paid a courtesy call on Hon. Minister Rwanyindo

On  Wednesday 21st February, 2018, Mr. Chibebe Wellington who is the new Director for  International Labour Organization Country  Office for Tanzania, Burundi, Kenya , Rwanda and Uganda and his Delegation, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Rwanyindo Kayirangwa Fanfan, Minister of Public Service and Labour;.
Their discussions were centered on employment promotion in Rwanda and on-going efforts in the areas of labor and employment. .
Appreciating the recent election of Rwanda as Member of the ILO Governing Board, Mr. Chibebe reiterated ILO ‘s commitment to supporting the Decent Work Country Programme (2018-2022), taking into account national priorities to help sustain current achievements geared towards  inclusive development.   
Hon. Minister Rwanyindo appreciated ILO support in employment and labor rights promotion and assured the new Director of the full collaboration and support of the Government of Rwanda in the successful pursuit of his duties.
The Ministry of Public Service and Labour and ILO have worked together on various matters pertaining to labor and employment including the revision of laws regulating labour, national employment policy and the decent work country program.
Both Parties agreed on fast track measures aimed at ensuring implementation of the decent work country program, making sure that its targets are achieved timely and promised to keep working together, exploring more areas of continued cooperation, in the framework of the existing excellent relations between Rwanda and ILO.   
Mr. Chibebe Wellington, a Zimbabwean  national is the new ILO Director of the ILO Country Office for Tanzania, Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda effective from 01 January, 2018.
